KATIE KERSHAW

Beginning her career in-house, Katie first worked with Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic before moving agency side to advise a broader range of clients. Most recently she headed up easyJet’s UK communications team.

She is a specialist in strategic crisis management and corporate reputation having spent over fifteen years advising companies, both in an in-house and agency capacity, on their approach to crisis communications and business resilience. As well as helping clients when an issue or crisis occurs, she advises leaders of public and private sector organisations to ensure their business; drives lasting transformation, prepares and builds the capacity to respond to crises effectively and proactively manages adverse events.

Katie specialises in rapidly evolving crises and circumstances of unusually high business uncertainty and has provided senior counsel through many live issues and crises. She has successfully managed numerous situations ranging from airport and airspace closures including the ash cloud airspace closure of 2010 and the Gatwick drone closure of 2019, terrorist attacks including the 2015 Sousse attacks and Brussels airport bombing of 2016 as well as aircraft accidents and cyber breaches including one in 2020.

She has advised some of the world’s largest and most respected companies including Virgin Atlantic, easyJet, Qatar Airways, The Singapore Tourist Board, Como Hotels and Resorts and Finnair to ensure they factor reputation into their decision making, resolve controversial issues and respond to crises effectively.
